Sudbury is a diverse community in Northeastern Ontario with growing mining, health care, education, technology, tourism, retail and government industries.  It is the health centre hub for many rural and First Nations communities in Northeastern Ontario and home to Laurentian University, the Northern Ontario School of Medicine, the Centre for Rural and Northern Health Research, the Centre for Occupational Health and Safety, and to Health Sciences North, and the Northeast Regional Cancer Centre.  With one of the largest French-speaking populations outside of Quebec, Greater Sudbury is also a centre of Franco-Ontarian culture. Local attractions include Science North and Dynamic Earth. The City of Greater Sudbury, with a population of about 160,000 is the largest municipality in Ontario; its unique geography is defined by its position within a 2 billion year old impact crater, and the 330 lakes that are found within its city limits.

Greater Sudbury is 4 hours by road and a one hour flight north of Toronto. Sudbury is serviced by Air Canada, Express Jazz via Person International, six times daily and by Porter Airlines three times daily via Billy Bishop Airport in downtown Toronto.

Venue

The Conference will take place at the The Holiday Inn, Sudbury which has recently completed an extensive, multi-million dollar renovation of all rooms and all public spaces.

The hotel is about 40mins from the Sudbury Airport (YSB),  and 10 mins from, Laurentian University, Health Sciences North, Science North and many restaurants and shopping centres within the downtown core.  The hotel is close to the beautiful board walk located behind Science North, and minutes from Sudbury's largest attraction, the Big Nickel at Dynamic Earth. The hotel has a heated indoor pool, whirlpool, and state of the art Fitness Centre,  The Rendezvous Cafe & Lounge as well as The Four Corners Dining Room with daily specials Rooms include  free high-speed WI-FI, and large 42" LED HD TV .

A block of 100 rooms have been reserved for the conference and will be held until September 23rd, 2016.  The Conference rate is $129.00 plus taxes.  For reservations, conference attendees should contact the hotel directly and ask for the Canadian Rural Health Research Conference rate.
