The 15th Conference of the Canadian Rural Health Research Society will be held in Sudbury, Ontario.  This conference will provide a forum for researchers, clinicians, practitioners, patients, community partners, and knowledge users interested in issues of the health and wellbeing of rural Canadians.

Attendees of this conference will share recent research, best practices and policies concerning a range of issues from health access and health care improvement for rural communities.

Conference Objectives

  • To share stories about successes and challenges in delivering health services to rural or Northern populations
  • To share findings of recent and ongoing research on rural or Northern health
  • To share innovations at the front lines
  • To discuss patient engagement and participation in health research
  • To provide students with opportunities  for mentorship and networking
  • To discuss the special health care needs of rural, remote, Francophone and Indigenous communities
  • To discuss intervention strategies and policy approaches designed to assist rural residents and their communities in achieving the best possible health outcomes
  • To network and facilitate national  and inter-university partnerships involving researchers and decision makers concerned with rural and northern health
  • To share successful methods of knowledge translation
  • To discuss ways in which rural researchers and decision makers can work together in developing policy-relevant research and creating evidence-informed rural health policies
