Sixth Conference of the Canadian Rural Health Research Society & the First Conference of the Canadian Society for Circumpolar Health


All workshops will be held on October 27, 2005.

A. Canadian Centre for Health and Safety in Agriculture (CCHSA) – Full day Funded by the Canadian Institutes for Health Research (CIHR) Centres for Research Development will be holding a pre-conference session bringing the gaps between the CCHSA theme areas of: What we Breath,What we Eat and Drink,How we work and How we live. Presentations from key note speakers and abstracts presented orally or as posters from the CCHSA Scientific Network and awardees of the Junior and Senior Faculty release time projects.

B. Research Ethics for Rural and Northern Populations – Half day This workshop will include keynote speakers and discussions on issues related to health research carried out in Canadian northern, rural and aboriginal communities.As part of this workshop, the new guidelines developed by the Aboriginal Ethics Working Group of the Canadian Institutes for Health Research will be presented for discussion. Case examples of effective and ineffective research ethics will be discussed.
