  • 2011 CRHRS 10th Anniversary Awards

    Student Poster Competition - Awards

    In celebration of the Canadian Rural Health Research Society’s (CRHRS) 10th anniversary, the Board of CRHRS sponsored a “student poster competition”.  Students who entered the competition were judged by a panel based on Quality, Evidence, Illustrations, and overall Appearance.   There was first, second and third place recognition with first Place poster receiving a $100.00 prize.

    CRHRS Poster 1st Place:

    Title: Socio-environmental Dimensions of Safety of Mexican Seasonal Farmworkers in Saskatchewan: Opportunities for Learning Sustainability

    CRHRS Poster 2nd Place:
    Janna Schurer, Western College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Saskatchewan, PHARE Masters student
    Title: Bridging the gap: Parasitic zoonoses in Canadian indigenous communities

    CRHRS Poster 3rd Place:
    Mohammad Z. Haque, School of Public Health, University of Saskatchewan, Masters Student
    Title:  Development of Respiratory Resources for Saskatchewan Farm Families



    People's Choice Award for Best Poster

    Each conference attendee received one ballot in the registration package.  Posters were assessed for their Clarity, Significance, and Presentation.  This was an opportunity for peers to express appreciation for poster presentations.  There was no cash value, only FAME!
